As part of a business trip to Canada, a TMK delegation visited the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI), located in Sudbury, Ontario.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of research and innovation, the introduction of modern technologies into the mining industry, and the expansion of international scientific and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Canada.
In particular, they considered the possibility of implementing joint R&D projects, establishing partnerships with the more than 120 resident companies in the CEMI ecosystem, and attracting them to the R&D Park and the "Metals of the Future" technopark managed by TMK.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to implement an international business accreditation program and to organize a visit to Uzbekistan for representatives of CEMI ecosystem companies and research centers to learn about the operations of TMK's plants and technoparks.
The delegation also visited the Process Research Ortech laboratory in Mississauga. During this meeting, they discussed attracting the laboratory as a resident of TMK's technoparks, implementing joint R&D programs in laboratory and research fields, and developing cooperation in metallurgy and processing technologies.
