Artificial Intelligence and the Mining and Metallurgy Industry: The Strategic Importance of the UTCM and MIT Partnership

At a meeting chaired by our President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to accelerating the implementation of major investment projects in the mining and metallurgical industry, special attention was paid to the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence in the sector.

In line with these priority areas, the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex  is consistently developing its partnership with a leading global academic institution: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

During a conversation with Vijay Kumar, Senior Advisor for Global Initiatives at MIT Open Learning, the impact of artificial intelligence on industrial sectors was emphasized, as was the fact that Uzbekistan is set to become the center of this transformation.

The engineering school, being established through the collaboration between TMK and MIT Open Learning, is also expected to usher in a new era of integration for artificial intelligence, science, and industry in Central Asia.
