A delegation of professors and researchers from the University of Utah (USA) visited the TMK R&D Park of the Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex.
During the visit, the parties discussed prospects for long-term scientific, technical, and educational cooperation in the fields of critical and rare earth metals, materials science, modern metallurgical technologies, and the training of highly qualified specialists.
Representatives from the University of Utah explored the laboratory and scientific-technical infrastructure of TMK R&D Park, its modern analytical equipment, and its research capabilities in critical minerals, mineral processing, batteries, and nano- and functional materials.
During the dialogue, special attention was given to the implementation of joint research projects, the shared use of laboratory infrastructure, the development of exchange programs for professors, researchers, and students, as well as the launch of a 1+1 master's program and an industrial doctorate model.
Following the meeting, further steps were outlined to identify the first 2–3 priority research projects, draft a concept for the first joint project, and bring bilateral cooperation to a practical level.
This visit laid an important foundation for long-term cooperation aimed at combining the scientific potential of the University of Utah with the laboratory capabilities of TMK R&D Park and real-world industrial tasks.
