In Tashkent, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), with financial support from the European Union, held a seminar focused on boosting the export of critical minerals and improving international logistics and transport links.
At the event, representatives from government agencies, international organizations, and the industry discussed the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, customs and transit procedures, and the deep processing of critical minerals.
Timur Hikmatullayev, Special Representative of the Chairman of the Board of TMK for Global Integration, presented the plant's production and export potential.
Speaking on behalf of TMK, he noted that Uzbekistan's geographical location—being doubly landlocked with no direct sea access even through neighboring states—complicates product deliveries to European and US markets. He emphasized that, given the growing cooperation with Western countries and the export of TMK products to these markets, the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor is becoming particularly important for the plant.
The discussions also covered the efforts of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan to optimize logistics operations, address excessive bureaucratic barriers, and streamline certification and customs control.
Additionally, the speaker highlighted TMK's achievement of RMAP Conformant status for tungsten under the RMI program and underscored the importance of delivering products to international markets via the Trans-Caspian Corridor.
