At a meeting held today between representatives of TMK and the China University of Geosciences (CUG, Wuhan), a number of important agreements were reached to expand scientific and educational cooperation.
In particular, based on the jointly established “School of Advanced Green Mining Equipment” and a joint “1+1” master’s program model with CUG, it was agreed that 10 TMK master’s students will study their first year in Uzbekistan and the second year in China. Graduates will receive diplomas from both universities.
“Training master’s students is just the first stage of our cooperation with TMK. In the future, we plan to organize joint summer and winter schools, and launch internship programs for employees,” said Dr. Xia Fan, Vice President of CUG.
It was also decided to send TMK engineers and staff from the nano-analytical laboratory for internships in China. The parties will develop programs focused on working with modern equipment, improving scientific and technical qualifications, and exchanging experience.
In particular, the proposal to have Chinese students undertake internships at the Rare Metals and Hard Alloys Plant operated by TMK was positively received.
The two sides also agreed to conduct intensive training courses for students and young professionals, as well as to establish student exchange and internship programs.
