The 2nd Uzbekistan–Tajikistan Interregional Forum was held in the Jizzakh Region, aimed at strengthening trade and economic ties and fostering business partnerships between the two countries.
As part of the forum, Uzbekistan Technological Metals Complex (TMK) actively participated in B2B meetings and negotiations, where new opportunities for cooperation in the field of critical minerals were discussed.
Specifically, TMK held talks with the management of Avesto Group, one of Tajikistan’s largest industrial and investment groups operating in the mining, manufacturing, and trade sectors.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed prospects for cooperation in the following priority areas:
🔹 joint development of antimony (Sb) resources;
🔹 processing and efficient use of mining waste;
🔹 organizing a visit for TMK specialists to Tajikistan to study production facilities and assets on-site.
The agreements reached mark an important step toward establishing a regional value chain in the critical minerals sector by combining the resources, expertise, and industrial potential of both countries.
The forum took place ahead of the state visit by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on March 26 and provided an additional impetus for intensifying bilateral economic cooperation.
