At the TMK headquarters, a meeting was held with the delegation of the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) to discuss future cooperation opportunities.
The meeting was attended by GTK Director General Kimmo Tiilikainen, TMK management, and O. Qodirov, Vice-Rector of the University of Geological Sciences of Uzbekistan.
GTK representatives expressed strong interest in developing joint projects within the framework of the Memorandum of Strategic Partnership between the European Union and Uzbekistan in the field of critical raw materials.
During the meeting, GTK presented the capabilities of the Mintec Laboratory. It was noted that a pilot installation is being built at the laboratory to monitor, study, and test mineral extraction from ores and technogenic waste. The pilot system is being designed and established based on the equipment of Finland’s METSO company.
Mintec Laboratory offers services in geomaterial research, isotope geochemistry, mineralogy and geometallurgy studies, laboratory testing, and the design of special pilot units in collaboration with METSO to simulate and test mineral extraction processes from ores and industrial waste.
For reference: GTK is an active partner of the European Union, OECD, UNESCO, and other international scientific organizations. As a leading member of the EuroGeoSurveys and EGDI networks, GTK has extensive experience in geological research, mineral resources, and sustainable mining practices.
